Overview

We are currently seeking an IT Support Technician to join our team, starting at Level 1 with opportunity for progression, reporting to the IT Manager. This role is ideal for a resourceful and detail-oriented individual. The successful candidate will provide first-level technical support, with the opportunity to progress to Level 2 issues as their experience and ability progresses.

This is an on-site, permanent, full-time position. Typical hours will be between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. You will occasionally be required to work after-hours or on weekends, with lieu time provided for any hours worked beyond your regular weekly hours. Driving between Budds' Group locations as needed is a requirement: a valid Ontario G2 or G driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory. A per-kilometer allowance is provided for driving between sites in the course of your work.

As an IT Support specialist, your tasks will cover a variety of tasks and locations. This isn’t a typical office job!

About the Position

  • Configuring and deploying Windows-based computers physically at our sites.
  • Handling shipping/receiving of IT hardware.
  • Maintaining the IT office and storage areas and IT equipment inventory.
  • Contributing to team efficiency when not on active calls, E.G. prepping PCs for deployments.
  • Managing tickets and assigned tasks.
  • Providing Level 1 IT support during company business hours.
  • Maintaining documentation on IT procedures and user guides.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience or proven ability in IT support. (There will be a technical interview.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows IT infrastructure, networking, and general troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically.
  • Able to clearly communicate step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Valid Ontario G2 or G driver's license and reliable transportation (driving between locations required).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time.
  • Being able to use stairs routinely is required, as well as being able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Personal smartphone use is required: work email, 2FA logons, and Avaya Cloud Office being examples. A monthly mobile phone bill allowance is provided.
